My name is Gunnar Bäumer (Baeumer) from Wilnsdorf/ Germany and scale modelling is my passion since I was six years old. Through the years I got more and more involved in the hobby on a professional basis by being a contributor of articles to numerous modelling magazines and books. Commission works are a great part of this process and this way I can build many models from different manufacturers of differing time frames. This keeps me curious and awake in learning different and new techniques every time to achieve a convincing model. An opportunity arose for building an Israeli Nagmachon. A modern support vehicle for the famous D9R Doobi, which looks more like a space ship with all it´s slat armor applied. As this vehicle is based on the Centurion chassis, I was searching the web for Centurion worn road wheels. Those wheels look pitiful after only a few days in service with the Israelian army, as seen in the great reference book on the Nagmachon by Michael Mass. We find wheels in a rather good condition directly beside road wheels that are missing their rubber wheels in great parts or even totally lost. The only vehicles with intact road wheels reside in a museum. So a must to build a convincing Nagmachon, was to achieve this worn look to the road wheels. But there were none available. This led me to doing my own by using mainly the Proxxon rotary tool with different bits to achieve the look you are able to enjoy now through the generosity of Tiger Model Designs. I hope you enjoy and appreciate this new item for modern vehicles with numerous applications.
